Burnham’s Dream at Theater Wit

June 10 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm

With a cast of ten accompanied by piano, cello and a wind player, the production includes period costumes, choreography and archival images.

Acclaimed voice teacher Paul W. Thompson is the music director.
Annabelle Revak of Underscore Theatre Company is the conductor/pianist for the run.

The show features historical Chicago characters: three architects, Daniel Burnham, John Root and Louis Sullivan; Burnham’s wife, Margaret, socialite Bertha Palmer and social activist/journalist Ida B. Wells.

Issues of immigration, the suffragette movement, racial inequality and workers’ rights are woven into the story of how the 1893 Columbian Exposition came to be built. And no, there is no serial killer in our presentation.

I will be an audience member for this production after having worn the hat of composer, co-lyricist and orchestrator.

And no, there is no serial killer in our presentation.
